Latest Casting Rumors: Name of Actress Up For Role

Posted: 07:51:48 on April 15
By: Steve Krutzler
Dept: Series Five

There has been a plethora of rumors in recent days from various fan sites, but I've opted to post these from TGL mainly because as I've said previously, TGL established itself many years ago as a reliable source for inside Trek information and therefore these rumors have a little more weight than those elsewhere. Allow me to emphasize yet again that TGL has yet to established a track record with regard to Series V, but their past record and other mounting evidence from reliable sources about Series V seems to warrant the posting of the following:

"Our source is back. Once again, TGL thanks him/her, and once again, we can tell you what our source has told us regarding Series V. Please note that this information has not been confirmed by Paramount.

"Our source has "...managed to find out that it was Marjorie Monaghan who went for the part of T'Pau. She was the head of the Mars Resistance in Babylon 5 Season 4. I don't know if she has the part for sure, but she was in the final selection. However a source was certain that she had the part..."

" Marjorie Monaghan appeared in several episodes of B5 as 'Number One', leader of the Mars Resistance. Her final B5 appearance was in Season Five's 'Objects at Rest'. Since then, she's appeared in the 'Becker' comedy show, which also stars ex-DS9Niner Terry Farrell. Her full Internet Movie Database profile can be checked out here.

" Once again, TGL points out that this information has not been confirmed, and that Marjorie Monaghan is in the running to get the part - she hasn't been cast yet. She might not get cast - the role of T'Pau may be played by someone else."

Excellent choice

If she gets the part of T'pau, I think it would be an excellent choice on the part of the casting dept at Paramount. The actress will look like a classic female Vulcan (from TNG, not TOS) once the ears and eyebrows are applied. I just hope they don't use those short, mannish-looking wigs that the male actors wear. I prefer the standard bobbed hair used on the characters of Dr. Selar (The Schizoid Man) and Sub-Commander Taris (Contagion).

Good Acting Fit

Looking at her resume I'm already interested, she seems to guest star on shows I like (including Voyager). I remember her form "the Pretender", it wasn't a great role to showcase ones talent (military roles never are, people always have to repress their emotions, hey perfect for a Vulcan) but she was good. Also judging from her "Voyager" episode I think she'll make a fine Vulcan (or Romulan, whatever she's supposed to be).

As far as her costuming, I hope they stay away from the Seven-style stuff, I personally think that those costumes look stupid, I'd rather they went for NICE costumes than overt ratings stunts. But in the end the costume doesn't matter to me, I just want the acting to be good.

She is hot! If she gets the part, the producers had best let her wear a seven of nine type skin tight cat suit. Even Vulcans can be sexy!

have to either wear a wig, or dye her hair, not to mention wearing lots of Vulcan green makeup to hide her fair complexion.

Marjorie Monaghan, wow she's way famous.

From a guest appearance in 'Becker' and now a main part in Series 5, she is set to be a huge star. Not.
