Dept: Series Five

SFX reports that the new ship in Series V will "look a lot chunkier and blockier - many of the components held within later ship's streamline silhouettes will be bolted onto the hull."

SFX's source also reports that the first episode will have a budget of $10-$15 million and has a major, seven year commitment.

$10-$15 million for a pilot episode? Even for Star Trek, that strikes me as being a bit high. I hope that's going into real, beneficial creative efforts and not just into bloated, unneeded expenses.

Take care!

Seven Years of this prequel?
That could build up an arc (like DS9), which means that Berman and Braga may actually be planning this out.
Or I could just be getting hopeful...
