Dept: Star Trek BBS Update
Here are some of the active discussions this week over @ STAR TREK BBS...
- Despite Negetivity, I am looking forward to ENT
by Captain Archer, who holds promise for ENTERPRISE amongst a sea of disillusioned online fans.
- I Miss DS9!
by Radix, who says "Watching Sisko go from conflicted commander to war hero was awesome. The growth of Bashir from young, naive doctor to confident, veteran doctor. Odo's conflicted past with the Changelings and his love for Kira was great. Kira learning to get along and accept her place in the universe. O'Brien's ascent from lowly transporter chief to miracle worker on an alien space station. Dax and her many past hosts and experiences. Lovable Quark always into trouble with the law. And, of course, our favorite Klingon, Worf. From security officer to tactical liason officer to ambassador was huge for him. Watching Jake Sisko, too, was cool. He was a good role model for young people everywhere," and has stimulated a discussion on the merits of the oft-forgotten first TNG spin-off.
- Enterprise 2101 OR 2051?
by DeQueue, who has started a discussion on the ambiguity of the powers that be thus far to clearly establish the time period of ENTERPRISE and what the BBS thinks of these details.
- What will be Enterprise's greatest strength (or greatest weakness?)
by Archangel, who asks "Going simply on what we know so far (the premise, cast, characters, and some behind-the-scenes people), what do you think Enterprise's greatest strength can be (what it has going for it the most already)?" Among this poster's thoughts are the belief that the prequel concept at least may mean less quick-tech solutions, featured since the early days of TNG.
- Ensign's flying the Enterprise
by John, who wants to know why in the world the helmsmen have typically been the lowest ranking officers.
- TOS Technology VS Enterprise
by Nivek, who has started a conversation about how ENTERPRISE will venture to make its technology seem less advanced than TOS without the 60's-style theming.

So Enterprise is going to have a
orbital bridge with seatbelts
When DS9 was in the works
they said that is going to be down and dirty
I am a fan B5 and it spin offs but thats
B5 well,Star Trek thats another ball game
all together I am huge fan like others
who have become critical of the powers
that control the franchise as we all
know, it is studio execs that control
what goes in a show they don`t care about loyal fans or story contenuity it is
the rating numbers JMS knew this and
got out before it was too late for his
health, any die hard fan of Star Trek knew what happened to Roddenberys creation when he fort the execs,So we can imagine now with corporate execs to anything that give people who love the idea of something fresh stories to break the barriers
not create them, lets hope somebody has the forsight to do that"To Boldly Go"
