ENTERPRISE Excitement On the Rise, Some Think 'Star Trek' Should Die, Fans vs. Writers, the Best 'Voyager' Spec That Never Sold, and More: This Week's Active STAR TREK BBS Discussions!

Dept: Star Trek BBS Update

Here are some of the interesting discussions going on this week at STAR TREK BBS!

  • New, more positive Enterprise pilot review (spoilers)
by Azrael, who has started a discussion about the new detailed synopsis and review of the Enterprise pilot, "Broken Bow", which seems to have energized even opponents of the prequel Enterprise concept.

  • Personally, I think Star Trek should die
by Gundar, who says that even though Enterprise is the best move the franchise could've made, it should count its blessings and throw in the towel already. "It's too late to save the series. Oh, sure, I've heard it from Berman: "Let's take a break from Star Trek. Time for it to rest." And what, churn out the same bland glop, only wait an extra year so that the fans will be in a frenzy to see the next scale model ship whip across the screen? That will solve the storytelling problems. That'll break through the blandness."

  • Fan, Fanatic or screenwriter - whose more important??
by CptGerroldBermann, who has started a thread pertaining to whether or not professional writers or fans are more reliable when it comes to Star Trek critical analysis.

  • Unseen Voyager script
by gwhitta, who has posted a link to an unsold Voyager spec script that reveals the possible origin of the Borg. Many BBS users have read the script and believe it would've been one of the best Voyager episodes ever!

  • I hope they get rid of transporters for "Enterprise."
by DeQueue, who says "I think it'll greatly authenticize the pre-quelness of the show if they avoided such a "magical device," and tried a contemporary look, such as landing shuttles."

OPINION POLLS
ENTERPRISE has been revealed this week and we'd like to know how you would rate the show so far based on the new Enterprise NX-01, the interior set design, the new costumes, and any other info that you may already possess!
(A) Spectacular! The first looks offered this week reveal a series with immense potential and more excitement for Star Trek than I've felt since the days of TNG!
(B) Impressive, but cautiously so! What I've seen so far has promise and most of it is in the right direction, but I will restrain my jubilation for after the premiere!
(C) Uninteresting! The photos I've seen so far reveal a series that lacks serious originality in artistic design and I am open-minded yet skeptical of its potential!
(D) Horrifying! What we've been shown so far is unoriginal and unexciting, revealing a series unexcuseably violative of continuity and poorly developed; Paramount will be lucky if I tune in!
