More Shots of Set Now Confirmed As Engineering

In its latest attempt to be somewhat useful, the official Star Trek web site has posted six photos from Entertainment Tonight's visit that either didn't appear in the broadcast or are at the very least, much better quality. The site confirms that the set pictured here is indeed the new engineering of the Enterprise NX-01, as speculated when the images first splashed across our television screens.

You can reach the other pics, which are all copyright © 2001 by Paramount Pictures, by clicking here.

Computer?

Does anyone else see the problem with the computer console? It may just be me, but this is supposed to be a PRE-TOS show. If thats the case why does the computer console have a display like Voyager? In TOS they didn't have anything like this.

The expansive sides (including the wall-panels) of Main Engineering remind me of the Cargo Bay/Deck section from the NCC-1701 Enterprise from ST:TMP.

can't wait to see it on film. on the video clip, you can seem some flashing lights reflecting off the top of the warp core. looks pretty damn cool. the engineering set really looks like a predecessor to the sleek ships we've known in the 23rd & 24th centuries. now we need to see a shot of the crew quarters and rec centers.

the size of the ship, it looks like that pod with the blue light on top (from the outside shot) between the nacelles might just be big enough to house engineering.
I'm thinking this ship might be about the same size as the Equinox or a tad smaller?

StarTrek.com; P4

My opinion of StarTrek.com is that it is P.P.P.P. That stands for Paramount's Propagandistic Publicity Pablum.

It is primarily designed, in my view, as a site to placate the casual, uninformed fan and feed them the publicity department's swill. Sites that are not affiliated with Paramount, created by the fans, for the fans, are the ones that more accurately reflect the public's true feelings and opinions of the show, and where you will find the best content.

However, the Star Trek Magazine, officially sanctioned by Paramount, is one of the ST best publications ever put out, bar none (in my opinion).

Just my 2 cents worth.

I find it very worrying to think there's probably many people in the world that go to StarTrek.com, and don't realize there's sites like this, TrekToday etc.

StarTrek.com, like the official mag here in the UK, would like nothing better than to dupe their visitors into thinking they are the pinnicle of news and information.

But once we've seen the interviews, watched the video clips and whatever else may come our way, StarTrek.com seems very behind.

Don't even start me on their "Until you hear it here, it's just a rumor." If I get an interview, or whatever, which has news, how dare they say it's still a rumor!

StarTrek.com be damned!

I wonder if StarTrek.com is going to be the official ENTERPRISE site, or even if they will get to host the new site. You know, it's always possible for the ENTERPRISE web site liscence to be given to someone else. If that happens we might have two "official" Star Trek sites. Good or Bad? You decide.

That is so funny!

In the STARTREK.COM article, they talked about their pictures like it was some kind of exclusive, like nobody else had seen this stuff or something.

It's sad that the official site should be so bad about offering any real news to it's visitors. I understand that certain privacies are necessary. But, seriously, we've all been looking at pictures of the NX-01 inside and out for a week now.

At least if they're going to give us crumbs, admit that that's what's being given. They shouldn't act like there's nobody else out here covering Trek and like the fans are all too dumb to know it.

You will be watching ENTERPRISE because...
It's a 'Star Trek' series after all, I don't care about the producers, actors, or writers!
Scott Bakula. He is a fan-favorite because of his work on 'Quantum Leap'.
Jolene Blalock . Sexploitation be damned, she is hotter than Jeri Ryan!
It's not set in the over-used 24th Century, full of tecnobabble, quantum anomalies or Borg [yet]!
If nothing else, the UPN promos have done it for me!
Who said I will be watching? Berman and Braga will destroy 'Star Trek' with this prequel concept!
