First Look At New Costumes and The Crew In Action - Video Available!

The Los Angeles UPN affiliate UPN 13 aired the first footage of the Enterprise crew in action today. The footage reveals new uniforms that are blue/purple-ish and very reminiscient of NASA uniforms today. The design is as anticipated and does not include any familiar Starfleet insignia. The only coloration on the new duds appears to be shoulder lines that -- amazingly enough -- follow the TOS-era coloration scheme, with Captain Jonathan Archer having gold stripes and his engineer donning red stripes.

The video also shows the first look at the Vulcan 'T'Pol', who is not wearing a catsuit but appears to be dressed in a monochromatic semi-tight outfit that you can barely makeout in one of the monitor images included in the segment. Also, Scott Bakula confesses that he only took the role as Archer because the character is the first starship captain ever. Had Series V been a sequel to 'Voyager', Bakula says, he would not have been interested.

The actor also mentions the "cool factor" of references to future 'Trek' technology and events, as well as saying that the script is "fantastic" and unlike any other Star Trek. The segment also includes dialogue from, presumeably, "Broken Bow".

Past Present Future OF Star Trek

This is a general comment on the entire franshise and to those who are too quick to criticize and to state that it should end or that it is only fiction..I have been watching Star Trek since i was 9..Notice I say "star trek"..the first saw i watched was actually was tng. but every show that came after that to me is always gonna be star trek. To the creators of enterprise I abhor the idea that you dropped the Title but i understand just in a small portion that its a prequel therefore no star trek..But The word star trek has to do nothing with the storyline of enterprise..it is the common bonding that all show shared..that is a continuity to me and I always thought a long ongoing tribute to Gene Roddneberry..Therefore every show that come after TOS (star trek) would always have Star Trek in the title..to those who wishes to end or its just fiction..Star Trek is the only show that i could think of that have survived that long spinoffs and it is my hope that it would continue to have Spin Off till the day and I die and till the life and death of my generations of kids to come..

Why interference from the future?

Has anyone given this any thought? Is it so anything in the Star Trek Time Continumm can be changed? Is this really Star Trek? Didn't they drop it from the title? I believe we will see a lot changes without much regard to the Star Trek "history"

Will Archer be Boldly Going?
By Cymro B9 () at 17:02:52 on July 15

Will Scott Bakula be stating the old "Space the Final Frontier" phrase that Archer acctually should have coined first? I wonder if he'll say five year mission or continuing mission, i wonder if he'l, say "no one" or "no man". I wonder if it'll have a reworked version of TNG or TOS's theme music. I've never seen the trailer.

Random Thoughts about "Enterprise"
By ZephyrDragon () at 10:25:42 on July 14
URL: | User Info
Just some things I have been wondering about the new series:

-Majel Barrett has been the voice of the computer through all four series so far. Will this also be the case for 'Enterprise'?
And will the computer have that funky, mechanical sound like in TOS? (wor-KING...)

-Will time be expressed as "Stardate ####.#" or will they be using the Gregorian calendar?
Will we get to see the initiation of the Stardate system and will the first Stardate be 0001.0 or 1001.0?

-Might we see a Sarek as a child or young man? (I think this question may have been posed already.)

-Now that there is a Vulcan female as a regular, will we get to see the effects of the Pon Far on the fairer sex?

-I think we have to congratulate the Klingons on their choice of Broken Bow, OK as a crash site...10 miles in any direction and the title of the pilot might have been "Felker", "Iron Stob Corner", "Idabel", "Ultima Thule" or maybe even "De Queen"

Just something to think about....

Practical Uniforms

I think the uniforms are practical, cool, clearly looks an off-shoot of NASA uniforms and modern looking. They are more realistic than other Trek series. I am very impressed with Enterprise as a whole

I must admitt I for one am looking forward to the new series. So far everything looks very cool. I get fed up with people grumbling about the new ship and continuity. They should be grateful to have another Trek series to look forward to instead of slating it.As for the comparisons to TOS to be fair their was alot about TOS that was crap. But if they had todays fund an teqniques I'm sure it would be alot better. My opinion for a new Trek franchise would to facelift TOS and remaster it much the same as the Starwars trilogy.Cut all the space/model shots and insert new ones much like DS9 trials and tribulations.TOS left you using the imagination alot and upon watching it there is alot of scope to re master it.This would revive it and do the original series justice allowing it to hold its owm against its technically advananced spin offs. In summary be grateful for what we have and are about to get and don't bite the hand that feeds you as it is very rude and ignorante.

Stop whining....

Well I have to say that it makes me sick that now with the nwe show coming all we heare is that TOS was that, and TOS looked like this.....
Why can we not just be happy that with Voyager STAR TREK did not end? Lets face it ENTERPRISE is all we have so far for new Trek and we shloud not destroy a show before it even aired. And besides, that's realy all that it is a TV-Show. Yes the ship looks more modern than the TOS Enterprise "THANK GOD" and of course can modern day FX do a lot more than those guy's in the 60's.
I for my part look forward to the show, and I hope that it has his 7 Season run, and after that another Trek.....

And finaly: I DID LOVE VOYAGER, it was great entertainment and I will miss it deeply.

as new trek looms bashing voyager is pointless and old
By madspector () at 05:32:14 on July 13

why does every one feel the need to bash voyager? Especially when the "TOS" version had bad props awful writing, horrible acting and cheesey sixties feel to it, the next gen had is horrid years and ds9 wasnt any good until the dominion war began, all of these shows have thier good and bad points, Voyagers crime was not being the same stick in the mud concept with the same old tired aliens and the same sixties mentality that plagued all if its predecessors, Its sad that the only way some trek fans are satisfied is things stay in the same mold and no one every tries any thing new and different. I wonder if Gene Roddenberry would be content with same old same old "lets worship kirk amd picard and the hell with any thing that strays from that " attitude....I hope not. I find a way to some how like all of the trek shows some more that others but like it or not Voyager is part of that pantheon.

It's nice to see
By fx7 () at 01:05:37 on July 13

Its nice to see that they at least got the department colors correct. It is also nice to see what appears to be the black t-shirt underneath (very TOS like). I also like that they incorperated into a NASA esque design. I desagree with another poster that said the uniforms seems as though little work went into them. Unlike the NX-01, I think plenty of thought went into these uniforms. I think only thing I can nitpick is the fact that there was no "red" department color in Pike's days, but I could be wrong since I haven't seen The Cage in a long while.
If the uniforms really did suck it would be the least of my problems since you know they will be changed mid-series anyways :)

Uniform Preview in Voyager?

How do these uniforms compare to the one worn by the captain of the Mars lander episode of Voyager? And how far ahead of Enterprise was that episode set? Can they be shown to be related?

That might not be a catsuit, but that Vulcan sure has a tight uniform. Way to Go guys, go for the bottom instead of the top of the ladder called class!

Star Trek Voyager

The reporter says: "The year is 2151, 100 years before the Original Star Trek Voyager ever began." I got a kick out of that one =) Suffice it to say, I'm psyched about Enterprise!!!!

Looks good but...

The uniforms may look purplish because they are taken as screen captures from a TV set. I was getting tired of that Bright red that they used on Voyager anyway.
I can see why they are doing PR because a month ago a fan like me could cared less about another Trek TV show but the sets and uniforms look nice. I just hope they get some writers better than Voyager and get Braga out of the Paramount Lot for good. It has to be more than just a good looking show, it has to be a GOOD show for me to continue watching this time around.

Uniforms

Not bad, not bad. They are a bit drab, and the colored piping is a bit reminiscent of later Treks. I was hoping they would be more jumpsuit-like with pockets and a name tag.

What are those metal pins on their right breasts? Are those name tags or rank indicators? I was hoping sleeve stripes would be used too, but hey, I don't work for Paramount.

Take a look at the opening sequence of VOYAGER episode'Relativity' As the camera pans through the space dock - you'll see....
a ship looking like the SS Enterprise leaving dock. A new and original design.. I think not. Hmmm How did it get to the 24th century - This should give Berman nightmares

Cool!

Everything looks great... the uniforms are better than I expected. Perhaps "purple" was not the best term to use when describing them. :-)

Aside from the crack journalist's pronunciation of our new captain's real name ("BRAK-you-lah"), quite a tasty little tidbit.

But is it just me, or are those the ugliest uniforms they ever could've come up with?

But I like the attention to the TOS color code.

It's a 'Star Trek' series after all, I don't care about the producers, actors, or writers!

Jolene Blalock . Sexploitation be damned, she is hotter than Jeri Ryan!
It's not set in the over-used 24th Century, full of tecnobabble, quantum anomalies or Borg [yet]!
If nothing else, the UPN promos have done it for me!
Who said I will be watching? Berman and Braga will destroy 'Star Trek' with this prequel concept!
