Paramount Submits 'Nemesis' For Trademark Status |

Dept: Star Trek X
TrekToday reports that on June 18th Paramount filed its request to trademark the title "Star Trek: Nemesis", the rumored title for 'Star Trek X' (and previous TNG movies). Christian reports that as of July 8th the request had yet to be officially reviewed and covers standard merchandise categories such as mugs or lapel pins.
This may lend credence to "Nemesis" as the title of the forthcoming feature film, even though historically the marketing department can go all the way through shooting before settling on a title for a 'Star Trek' film. The studio may simply be registering in advance since the one word title "Nemesis" could easily turn up on any sort of other project over the next year.
TrekToday also reports on various trademark registrations for ENTERPRISE, including the show's title itself, each of the characters, and the starship in various merchandising categories. For that info, check out Christian's report here. |
