On the heels of our previous report concerning the first footage of "Broken Bow" (story), TrekToday has posted some additional spoiler information about the episode as well as confirmed previous rumors from other script reviews.
- Captain Archer's dog's name is 'Porthos' and is too valuable to be trusted to the transporter.
- The Oklahoma farmer who encounters the Klingon in the opening is 'Farmer Moore', possibly an homage to exited 'Trek' writer Ronald D. Moore, who is credited by many for his development of the TNG-era Klingons, and whom it is rumored suffered a "falling out" with Rick Berman and Brannon Braga over, among other things, the development of ENTERPISE.
- Two admirals will be named 'Leonard' and 'Williams', potential homages to Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner.
- Zephram Cochrane's speech is holographically recorded (but the report doesn't mention that this means there are holodecks in existence, perhaps just primitive recordings) at the facility where the Enterprise's Warp 5 engine was developed along with Archer's father.
- Captain Archer's climactic escape in the end of the episode will be via the dreaded transporter.
- The report also confirms a previously-reported rumor of Tucker and T'Pol being decontaminated together, in the nude, by professionally applying phosphorous gel.
For more confirmation on previous rumors about the Suliban and a crucial plot point involving the Klingons, head over to the original report. |

Greetings!
I continue to be amazed at the ignorance of television execs. Why do they feel they need to RUIN a good show with what they think will help? Nudity, sex - you name it - DOES NOT equal success. In Hollywood, research has shown that the more family friendly films have made more money at the box office - yet they ignore this fact and say, "We're only giving the public what it wants." Puh-lease!
I love Star Trek. I love science fiction. The original series flirted with
"sexuality". Ok, I admit it, Kirk slept with anything he assumed was female! Looking back, I am disappointed. However, that was "tame" compared to what Berman and crew want to do - and have done - today. 7 of 9 and her sprayed on uniform supposedly saved Voyager - or so I have been told. Too bad. It was a semi-lousy show. I couldn't stand to watch it before she ever showed up.
I know this is long, but come on people, wake up! I would love a Star Trek show I can watch with my family, not something that belongs in the sewer.
Some will say I’m over-reacting. “It’s only one scene”. Others will accuse me of being a prude or being old fashioned. After all, this is the 21st century – or in the case of Star Trek, the 22nd century and beyond! That’s ok. Right and wrong never change. Despite what they may say, some things ARE absolute – no matter what century!
I said it before, I’ll say it again: Being a man of integrity, I will not watch Enterprise if the nude scene stays intact. One person you say? So what? I guarantee I will not be the only one. GUARANTEE. I know I am not the only one offended by this.
Mr. Berman, you don’t need sex to sell Star Trek. The only thing you need is a great cast and a great story. The story sounds great so far – with the exception of the “nakedness”. Scott Bakula will make a great Captain Archer. Don’t ruin this franchise with a cheap ratings ploy that won’t work anyway. Mr. Berman, success isn’t measured by ratings; it is measured by and with integrity. Mr. Berman, boldly go where TV execs fear to go … Integrity, the first and only frontier.
By the way, it’s kind of interesting that the movie that “saved” the Star Trek movies had no sex in it at all.

Wow, if I keep reading these spoilers, I won't even have to watch the episode!

"GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show! ... You've turned an enjoyable little job, that I did as a lark for a few years, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME!"

I know that someone will start talking about the slease in the naked part with that vulcan chick, but stuff like that will make the show popular with non Trek fans, and increase ratings, and funds too, so we get a better show and we 're happy because of that aren't we?

Need an excuse for discontinuuity?
