Your 'Trek' Experiences Wanted and German 'Trek' Giveaway

ECW Press is trying to publish a book on Star Trek fans regarding their various special experiences. They are looking for Star Trek fans in the online community to submit their stories.

Because of a low response, the book is being threatened with the fact of not being published. It has come down to the point that author Jen Hale will have to cancel the special fan book if she doesn't receive a significant amount of responses in the next couple weeks.

"It wasn't an easy decision to make, but over the last 8 months I've sent out notices to newsletters, talked to various people, and have probably sent out close to 1000 personal emails to fan club presidents, website administrators, and other Trek fans on the 'Net. I've received almost no response."

Have you ever walked around in a Klingon outfit at a Star Trek convention? Have you ever met Patrick Stewart or William Shatner? If you have said 'yes' to any of these questions, or have had any other special Star Trek experience, Jen Hale wants you.

What exactly has Star Trek done to your life? Has Star Trek changed your life in some way? Has it made you see things in a different light?

Jen Hale personally received some messages from Star Trek fans who accused her of doing this book to only show that "Trekkers are a bunch of freaks," one person actually wrote back with, "I'd rather have a root canal than contribute a story about Star Trek." I really doubt all Star Trek fans are like this, so please contribute, and send in your special experiences. Our reputation is at risk.

If you have any stories to contribute, visit the ECW Press Star Trek submission form. If you have any questions, feel free to email Jen Hale personally.

I'd already been approached to contribute to a book like this. In the end, they were hoping the contributors would be the ones to buy the book, at a very inflated price. Also, my niece was approached to contribute some of her poetry to a collection, with similar terms. Maybe this project is on the up-and-up, I can't say, but let the buyer beware!

"GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show! ... You've turned an enjoyable little job, that I did as a lark for a few years, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME!"

OPINION POLLS
ENTERPRISE has been revealed this week and we'd like to know how you would rate the show so far based on the new Enterprise NX-01, the interior set design, the new costumes, and any other info that you may already possess!
(A) Spectacular! The first looks offered this week reveal a series with immense potential and more excitement for Star Trek than I've felt since the days of TNG!
(B) Impressive, but cautiously so! What I've seen so far has promise and most of it is in the right direction, but I will restrain my jubilation for after the premiere!
(C) Uninteresting! The photos I've seen so far reveal a series that lacks serious originality in artistic design and I am open-minded yet skeptical of its potential!
(D) Horrifying! What we've been shown so far is unoriginal and unexciting, revealing a series unexcuseably violative of continuity and poorly developed; Paramount will be lucky if I tune in!
