Dept: Star Trek BBS Update

Here are some of this week's hottest discussions on the STAR TREK BBS...

  • Star Trek X could be make or brake for the Trek movie franchise!!
by Capone whose thread has turned into a discussion on the future of the movie franchise beyond the tenth feature.

  • Romulans in ENT
by sheski who reminds us that according to 'Trek' history the Romulan Wars should occur during the time period of ENTERPRISE, but do we necessarily want to see them on-screen?

  • Exactly when do you theink Voyager "jumped the shark"
by prometheus59650, who poses the question, "What episode first made you say "Oh my God" (Not in a good way) and pointed toward the downward spiral?"

  • How ENTERPRISE could surprise us all!
by FrequencySpike, who applauds the inclusion of a time travelling villain and a "temporal cold war" in the premise of ENTERPRISE and ponders about how exactly this will play out in the series.

  • Bay doors on NX-01
by JSX, who tries to put known information together with images of the NX-01 to determine where some of her features are located.

  • Would TOS had been just as good or better with Hunter instead of Shatner?
by John, where posters are critically debating what each actor could've or did bring to the roles they played and whether 'Trek' sans Shatner would've made it this far.

  • Berman's insatiable ego
by Magusurden, who is the latest extremist fan to claim Rick Berman is stealing Gene Roddenberry's TOS formula for ENTERPRISE in order to satisfy his own ego. Disagree? Don't let this thread go unreplied to!

  • Archer: "Just having a little trouble with the bad guys..."
by Steve Krutzler, where posters are expressing their approval for such dialogue revealed through the various previews that offer a hint of Berman and Braga's "contemporary" style that ENTERPRISE should carry.

  • Enterprise gains Melrose Place and Tales from the Crypt writers
by O. Deus, who questions whether Antionette Stella and Fred Dekker are really valuable additions to the ENT writing staff.

  • The Five Most Emotionally Powerful Moments in Trek
by prometheus59650; from Spock's death to Kirk's death to TNG's "Inner Light" VOY's "Drone", drop on in and put down your selections.

  • Dear TPTB Haters
by Johnny, who says most fans are sick of others bashing Berman and Braga; some have chimed in the second that motion while others have sought to justify their distrust of the B&B duo. Don't let your opinion go unheard!

  • STLF: A List of Our Demands
by Mr. Hippo, who has compiled a semi-humorous collection of "demands" with regards to ENTERPRISE; some fellow BBS posters don't appreciate his humor; will you?

  • I like ST Voy
by Joe Buda who chimes in to say Voyager ain't so bad but Star Trek V sucked; what do you think?

  • Should/will Enterprise have multi-episode missions?
by Archangel who asks whether ENTERPRISE should keep running character stories and plotlines going from week to week in lieu of the traditional 'Star Trek' bottle-episode format.

  • Good Things About VOY
by Ensign Ro-Your-Boat, who begs the board to find at least one GOOD thing about Voyager; many people actually have!

  • Hippo's 10 Reasons from TOS why DS9 IS Star Trek
by Mr. Hippo, whose reasons include "Heroism and the Costs of War", "Bigotry to Tolerance", and "Idealistic Future is a Goal to be Reached, Not Already Achieved" just to name a few. Disagree? Love/hate DS9? Visit this discussion!

Think this list is too long?! Beam on over to the STAR TREK BBS for these and MANY MORE discussions worth checking in to! If you're new to TrekWeb, don't be shy, join in now! You can sign up in three easy steps!

Romulan Wars

THE ROMULANS SIMPLY HAVE TO BE IN THE NEW SERIES AS THE MAIN VILLAINS, NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.
WHAT DOES EVERYONE ELSE THINK ABOUT ROMULANS, ROMULANS IN ENT, ROMULAN WARS AND ROMULAN TECH OF THE TIME?

Episode II Title Announcement

I know this is unrelated to Trek, but with the announcement today of the title for Episode II ("Attack Of The Clones"), I'll at least say this: at least the Trek movies have better titles!!

OPINION POLLS
You will be watching ENTERPRISE because...
It's a 'Star Trek' series after all, I don't care about the producers, actors, or writers!
Scott Bakula. He is a fan-favorite because of his work on 'Quantum Leap'.
Jolene Blalock . Sexploitation be damned, she is hotter than Jeri Ryan!
It's not set in the over-used 24th Century, full of tecnobabble, quantum anomalies or Borg [yet]!
If nothing else, the UPN promos have done it for me!
Who said I will be watching? Berman and Braga will destroy 'Star Trek' with this prequel concept!
