First Look At 'Bridge Commander' Reveals Fine Title On The Way

Gamespot UK has posted a first look at Activision's upcoming title 'Bridge Commander', in which players will be able to command the capital starships of the 'Trek' universe in what promises to be the most realistic treatment of 'Trek'-type ship combat yet.

"Developed by Totally Games, Bridge Commander features the design talents of Larry Holland, who you may remember developed the fantastic X-Wing many moons ago. However in keeping with the Star Trek universe, the emphasis here is very firmly on capital class ships rather than small manoeuvrable fighters. We checked out the latest build at Activate last week, and our Tricoder data shows that it is indeed a fine looking game, with all the classic ships and adversaries from the Next Generation universe."

The full report can be found here, with screenshots here.

Sometimes I can find mission based stuff a little tedious - I have no patience... I wonder if you will be able to just pick a ship, set a course and just see how far you get by just exploring, seeking out strange new worlds and new civilisations, boldly going...

Now that would be very ST...

You will be watching ENTERPRISE because...
It's a 'Star Trek' series after all, I don't care about the producers, actors, or writers!
Scott Bakula. He is a fan-favorite because of his work on 'Quantum Leap'.
Jolene Blalock . Sexploitation be damned, she is hotter than Jeri Ryan!
It's not set in the over-used 24th Century, full of tecnobabble, quantum anomalies or Borg [yet]!
If nothing else, the UPN promos have done it for me!
Who said I will be watching? Berman and Braga will destroy 'Star Trek' with this prequel concept!
