'New Frontier' and 'Starfleet Year One' Novels Coming Up

Dept: General Star Trek

Psi Phi posted the cover and info on the next 'Star Trek New Frontier' novel by fan favorite writer Peter David. With the tentative title of 'Walk Like a Man', it features the supernatural origin of U.S.S Excalibur navigator Mark McHenry. The cover, by Keith Birdsong, features Captain Calhoun, McHenry and the new Galaxy-Class U.S.S Excalibur. More info can be found here

Also posted is the cover from 'Starfleet Year One', written by Michael Friedman, a compilation of the 12 chapters of serial story which were published in various novels. The cover art, by Sonia R. Hillios, features the classic 22nd Century Daedalus Class starship. More info can be found here.

Update 8/21 : Psi Phi has removed the 'Starfleet Year One' cover (featuring the U.S.S Daedalus) from the site.

Did anyone here read enough of these when they were serialized in the back of other novels to tell whether it looks like it's consistent with what we know about Enterprise? If Psi Phi has removed the cover, maybe Paramount has nixed this compilation because of confusion with Enterprise? Does anyone know what's up?

I've read all the NF novels, starting with "House of Cards" and I really dig 'em. The last novel was a cool twist on a western I found, very unexpected for Trek. While I thought McHenry's supernatural side sorta came out of left field, I prefered to just think of him as ecentric, I still dug the cameo by Q that led to this discovery. Hopefully, this will be a good read, cuz McHenry is one of my favs, and that plotline between Selar and the Hermat (can't remember hir name now) is getting kinda old.

Or... "Being Human" on the next exciting episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle. "Being Human" sounds much more Star Trek-y than "Walk like a Man"

OPINION POLLS
You will be watching ENTERPRISE because...
It's a 'Star Trek' series after all, I don't care about the producers, actors, or writers!
Scott Bakula. He is a fan-favorite because of his work on 'Quantum Leap'.
Jolene Blalock . Sexploitation be damned, she is hotter than Jeri Ryan!
It's not set in the over-used 24th Century, full of tecnobabble, quantum anomalies or Borg [yet]!
If nothing else, the UPN promos have done it for me!
Who said I will be watching? Berman and Braga will destroy 'Star Trek' with this prequel concept!
