Popular Opera Star Russell Watson To Sing ENTERPRISE Theme Song

TrekWeb has received confirmation that as recent as today, Paramount has chosen English opera star Russell Watson to cover the Rod Stewart tune "Faith of the Heart", which was featured on the 'Patch Adams' soundtrack, as the ENTERPRISE opening theme. The English tenor's debut album THE VOICE has dominated the U.K. classical charts for months. You can learn more about Russell and hear samples from THE VOICE at his official web site, RussellWatson.com.

The song, which includes the lyric, "No one can bend or break me... I can reach any star... I've got faith of the heart...", can be heard at Amazon.com by following this link.

This marks the first 'Star Trek' series to use a song (with lyrics) for its opening theme. Our source also confirms that the opening for ENTERPRISE is composed of several "historical exploration" scenes including a shot of the Space Shuttle Enterprise, as previously rumored, and most likely does not include the traditional "as [character name]" syntax when displaying the cast members' names; nor are there images of the cast members, as some new series employ. The feel of the opening, we are told, is of exploration and pioneering.
