STAR TREK(tm) 35 ANNIVERSARY ACTION FIGURES RELEASED
PALISADES REVEALS IMAGES OF PAINTED SCULPT MASTERS
Ellicott City, MD - The 35 Anniversary of STAR TREK has arrived ! Along with this monumental occasion, Palisades is excited to release full color images of their upcoming 35th Anniversary Star Trek exclusive action figure set.
With sculpts approved just over a month ago, Palisades rallied to pull painted versions into the spotlight for the 35th Anniversary celebration. The figures are in the last stage of being completed and these images should certainly offer fans a real glimpse of what to expect.
While little more than snapshots of the unpainted master sculpts have been available to date, a wave of support has already begun to form behind this product. Robert Porter, manager of the fan run Star Trek discussion list, PlayTrek, had this to report :
"Those of us in the Star Trek collectible toy market are very excited about the Palisades' Star Trek 35th Anniversary set. They (Palisades) are putting in a lot of effort to make this a quality project and their boxed presentation is simply wonderful. If this is any indication of what Palisades can do with a Star Trek line of toys, we're hoping they have a long, fruitful relationship with Paramount."
Palisades has also been very pleased with the project. Despite the very short time frame the project was given, the action figure set has passed remarkably fast through all of the levels of design and approvals.
"The process is going smoother than we had expected" announced Palisades' Director of Development, Ken Lilly. "Not only have our sculptors worked very quick to turn this project around, but Paramount Pictures has also been extremely helpful in bringing this figure to market so quickly."
To recap the piece itself, the 35th Anniversary Action Figure Set Exclusive will :
. Consist of both Gene Roddenberry and Captain James T. Kirk (tm)
. Both figures will be packaged in the same diorama style window box (Kirk will be seated at the Captain's chair with Roddenberry standing just behind, his hand placed in the captain's shoulder)
. Have a number that will be printed on the outside of the box and on the bottom of the captain's chair, to ensure authenticity.
. Be fully articulated to allow full pose-ability
. Contain an additional Communicator and Phaser
. Sell at an expected SRP of $24.99
. Be limited to a production run of 35,000 world wide
. Be on shelves just after Thanksgiving, 2001
