The latest Inside Trek column features an exclusive interviews with Trek stars William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.
"We're getting older" Shatner told journalist Ian Spelling, about himself and Nimoy "He doesn't look so good. So I wanted to get some of his thoughts down on tape before he could no longer pass on his wisdow".
"I got a call from Bill" Nimoy says "He'd come up with this idea with some associates of his, and it sounded like a good idea to me. So within days we were sitting down and doing it." So Shatner and Nimoy sat down at Nimoy's house for two-plus hours of conversation. The resulting 80-minute DVD and VHS, 'Mind Meld : Secrets Behind the Voyage of a Lifetime' will be available on November 6, 2001.
Those topics include Nimoy's alcoholism, a subject which previously he had not discussed publicly, as well as the alcohol-related death of Shatner's third wife, Nerine. To read the full interview, go here
