The overnights are in and according to Zap2it, NBC again won the night with an average of 13.2/20 share. That network's season premiere of ED beat ENTERPRISE and won the eight o'clock hour with a 9.0/14. ABC was second overall with its comedy MY WIFE AND KIDS scoring a 7.8/12 during the eight o'clock hour, though CBS's 60 MINUTES II came in second place in the slot with an 8.5/13. FOX climbed to the #3 spot with an average nightly viewership of 7.1/11, CBS came in fourth overall with an average of 6.0/9 and UPN came in fifth with an average of 5.1/7, a decline from last week's average of 5.5/8.
The third episode of ENTERPRISE, "Strange New World", scored an overnight 6.8/10, a slight decline from last week's second episode, which scored a 7.2/11 in the overnights. Again, UPN's lack of national coverage contributes to UPN's numbers; and at least in the Orlando market, ENTERPRISE did not air due to local basketball coverage (it will air on Saturday at 7p). "Strange New World" beat out FOX's baseball Game One pregame, which scored a 5.5/9, and the WB's DAWSON'S CREEK which scored a 4.3/6.
