According to Zap2it, ENTERPRISE once again slipped in the overnight ratings but this time much less so than in previous weeks. Helping UPN come in at #5 for the night, ENTERPRISE's fourth episode, "Unexpected," garnered an overnight rating of 6.6/10, a slight decline from last week's overnight 6.8/10. "Strange New World", the third episode, slid twice as much in the overnights from a 7.2/11 the previous week. Last week's third episode ("SNW") ended up with a 5.0/8 (nearly a 26% decline from the immediate overnights) in the final ratings and was watched by nearly 7.81 million viewers. Expect a similar adjustment tomorow when the final numbers come out. Clearly this is the least significant fall-off yet and indicates that the audience is beginning to stabilize.
CBS's 60 MINUTES II won the eight o'clock hour with a 7.6/12 last night, followed by ABC's MY WIFE AND KIDS at 7.8/13 and ACCORDING TO JIM at 7.4/12, and then NBC's ED at 7.0/12. ENTERPRISE beat FOX's pregame Baseball at 8p, which only garnered a 5.5/9, and then only barely lost out as baseball coverage beginning at 8:30p averaged a 6.7/10 for the night. The WB's DAWSON'S CREEK was even further down the list, only managing a 4.3/6 for the eight o'clock hour.
As with last week, expect ENTERPRISE to hold onto crucial male demographics when the final numbers are released tomorrow.
