The latest issue of Star Trek Monthly, just out in the UK, features an exclusive interview with ENTERPRISE actor Anthony Montgomery ('Travis Mayweather'). Among other things, he talks about his love for the original Star Trek.
"The first time I saw Nichelle Nichols on the screen, I thought 'Wow, that's a black lady in space ! Unfortunately, racism is still there. Star Trek is the only show that has always transcended any racial barriers and any kind of boundaries from the inceptiom of the show, from the very beginning. The [TOS] cast has everyone, you had the Asian-American, you had the African-American, you had everybody. And that's what this show is. How important is that ?"
The ENTERPRISE : Back In Time website posted a transcript of the interview, in which the actor highlights the main difference between the previous series and ENTERPRISE and talks about meeting one of his heros, LeVar Burton STENTERPRISE.com Mission Logs
