Dept: Star Trek X
Arnold T. Blumberg recently conducted an interview with STAR TREK: NEMESIS
screenwriter John Logan regarding Star Trek and nasty Internet rumors.
"I never comment on Internet rumors because they're so despicable," says
Logan. "A work in progress is an ugly thing. A writer should only be judged
when the work is completed. If I were to tell you the plot of
Casablanca, you would say, 'That sounds like an OK thriller,' but
when you see the movie, it is so much more than what just the plot would
suggest."
"From the few rumors that made it past me, I can say that a great many of
them are not right. There should be a few surprises left, if we can keep
them secret," continued Logan.
"Brent was my introduction to the whole Star Trek world," revealed Logan.
"Patrick came in early as well. It would be presumptuous of me to think I
could figure out what Picard would think better than he can, and he's been
invaluable in giving guidance on the language of the character."
"We are not leaving the toys where we found them. Star Trek: Nemesis
totally came from my heart, and I want to sit in the captain's chair as long
as I can."
