In the latest issue of Starlog Magazine, Rick Berman talks briefly about the development of ENTERPRISE, fan criticism, and STAR TREK: NEMESIS.
"I had been wanting to develop a show with him [Brannon Braga], and 'Enterprise' turned out to be it," Berman said. "We went through the normal stages on 'Enterprise': we wrote a concept and got notes from the studio, then we wrote a 30-page story and got further notes."
[...]
"We get praised and blamed so much," Berman said. "Michael Piller got praised and blamed. All I can do is hope that the work will speak for itself. Michael and I created 'Deep Space Nine,' and I developed 'Voyager' with Michael and Jeri Taylor. It was a unique group of people. They were more involved with the pilot. It's hard to address that question, but I'm not quite ready to hang up my shoes yet."
[...]
The cinematographer and editors [Stuart Baird]'ll use will be great for the franchise. With John [Logan] writing the script and Stuart directing, 'Star Trek X' will be something special."
[...]
"I certainly know that I'm committing at least three years to this series. Whether or not it will go four of five or six or seven years for me, we'll see."
