Rick Berman Comments on Diane Warren's "Faith of the Heart"

Today's issue (Nov 13-19, 2001) of The Hollywood Reporter has a feature story on Dianne Warren, who wrote the Enterprise theme song, "Faith of the Heart." In a sidebar, Rick Berman is quoted as saying:

"She [Warren] has a remarkable sense of lyrics. We were looking for a song that was an example of what 'Star Trek' was - a song that expressed a sense of exploration, a sense of bravery and fearlessness. But we didn't want to hit it on the head. 'Faith of the heart' has a tremendous amount of spirit, faith and humanity that fit exactly what we wanted. She has the ability - through her lyrics and music - to express a huge amount of feeling in such a short amount of time."

The article has quotes from several other entertainment industry figures, a listing of her many credits over the years (I had no idea she was so prolific), and a fair number of congratulatory ads, placed by her friends.
