Variety reports today that STAR TREK X scribe John Logan has just signed a deal two write two high-profile scripts for DreamWorks Pictures. The first, an Abraham Lincoln biopic to be directed by DreamWorks partner Steve Spielberg, and the second an untitled WWII picture to be helmed by DreamWorks prodution head Walter Parkes.
The Lincoln pic will follow the president's life through the Civil War and will be advised on by esteemed historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, who is nearing completion of her Lincoln biography to be published next year.
The WWII film will be Parkes's fiction directorial debut and focus on a groop of Allied commandos who join forces with a group of Eastern Orthodox monks on the Greek island of Symi during the war.
Logan's STAR TREK X script, currently titled NEMESIS, is in production at Paramount as we speak.
