Enterprise UK has put up some rather lengthy snippets from the October 15th script revision of the upcoming episode "Dear Doctor." The episode involves Archer deciding to help a disease-stricken pre-warp planet -- Valakis -- and the inhabitants' request for warp technology. The site has put up segments from Acts I, II, and III for your perusal:
ACT THREE SEGMENT
CUT TO: INT. HALLWAY - VALAKIAN HOSPITAL
Archer and T'Pol talk with Esaak as they make their way down the hallway. Mid-conversation:
ESAAK
I can't thank you and your crew enough for all your efforts. If only other species shared your compassionate nature.
Archer and T'Pol exchange a look. He knows T'Pol has a different view.
ARCHER
Your astronauts mentioned that your people have made contact with other aliens in the past.
ESAAK
Two years ago we were visited by the Maelins. They chose to abandon us when they discovered we were sick.
ARCHER
That's unfortunate.
ESAAK
Their warp technology could have enabled us to seek advice elsewhere. But even that was too much to ask...
An uncomfortable beat. Archer and T'Pol exchange an awkward look. It's clear to them which direction this conversation is headed.
T'POL
While I'll admit refusing to help find a cure might be considered inappropriate, I can certainly understand their reservations in wanting to share technology.
Esaak appeals to Archer:
ESAAK
Captain, am I to understand that you, too, would refuse us your warp capability if we requested it?
Another tense beat.
ARCHER
Is this an official request?
