The WB narrowly defeated ENTERPRISE for the first time this season on Wednesday night, with a new episode of its teen angst series DAWSON'S CREEK eeking out a slight victory over ENTERPRISE's rerun of "Strange New World." With a 3.7/6 to a 3.6/6, DAWSON put the WB in the fifth spot for the first time since the start of the new season, but the victory is clearly bittersweet as the ENT rerun almost still won the battle of the weblets.
In other TV ratings news, CBS's 60 MINUTES II once again took the eight o'clock hour with a 7.8/13 and NBS took the night as usual with new episodes of THE WEST WING and LAW & ORDER bringing that network's average to 10.9/19 for the night.
New episodes of ENTERPRISE begin January 23rd.
