In a recent interveiw with Steven Eramo for Cult Times magazine actor Gary Graham talked a little about his Enterprise experiance. Severeal of the fans who have seen the episode "Broken Bow" have probably been wondering if they will be seeing more of Graham's Vulcan Alter ego. The actor was all too happy to provide answers to these much-asked questions.
As many know, Soval was the Vulcan Ambassador to Earth who strongly objected to Starfleet's decision to allow Captain Archer to undertake the mission of returning the injured Klingon Klaang to the Klingon homeworld. So one might be inclined to ask Graham what he feels Soval's opinions are of the Human race.
"He regards Humans as very much second class cosmic citizens in that they're not quite on the same level as the Vulcans in terms of their intellectual capabillities or emotional control." Graham explains. "Vulcans deal with Humans as they would an errant teenager. Humans must be disciplined and, with patience, the Vulcans will teach them how they should behave."
In the pilot episode "Broken Bow" Soval strongly objected to Starfleet's decision to send Archer and his crew out into space. One cannot help but ask Graham if he will be returning to Enterprise to reprise his role.
"Yes. In Broken Bow my character wasn't very keen on the idea of Archer commanding the Enterprise. I recently finished filming a new episode in which the Vulcans are dealt a devistating blow - it has something to do with another race that they're at odds with - and Soval blames Archer. He see the Captain as a poor leader and lobbies once again to replace him. At the end of the episode, Soval is called back to Vulcan. Hopefully, this doesn't mean we won't be seeing him again."
