    Dept: Star Trek: Nemesis

The German Trekzone.de website has just posted a detailed description of the events that lead to the Romulan Senate's demise in the upcoming movie, Star Trek Nemesis. Most of this information was released months ago when the first script synopses appeared and nothing has changed. But there may be a few additional details worth checking out. Here are the details as posted by Trekzone Network :

"At the meeting of the Romulan senate there are several people attending : two commanders of the Romulan fleet, several senators (including assassin Tal'Aura), some security people and also the head of the senate, Preator Hiren. The two commanders are convinced that Shinzon and his army is a good opportunity for the Romulan empire, and that they should convince him to join the empire. If that would happen even the Federation would have no choice against the Romulan empire, that's what one of the commander says in the movie. However, Preator Hiren isn't very happy about this suggestion, he asks the commanders to be patient, whereupon they leave the senate - and therewith avoid the attack.

Shortly after this, senator Tal'Aura (who is, as already reported, an ally of Shinzon) leaves the senate also under an excuse, but she left a small silver box. While the discussion continues a senator who was seated next to Tal'Aura noticed that the little box starts to move. The box unfolds slowly and you can see a kind of legs on which the box is now standing. The box becomes a spider like, and after a few seconds a light beam shouts out of the box. The senators are amazed. The beam shoots to the dome shaped ceiling of the room, 'rains' back down and covers everything in a glowing cover of energy. Shortly after this, the light disappears.

Preator Hiren wants to inform security, but before he can do anything, a plant starts to shrink behind him and only a moment later his face skin dissolves. Meanwhile, the skin of the wild yelling senators starts to dissolve also. Every organic matter is annihilated during a few seconds, beneath the whole Romulan senate. The spider weapon is beamed away after this...[...] Directly after the attack, you can see the marriage of Troi and Riker in Alaska."
