Ethan Phillips Returning to TREK Fold As Ferengi Character? |

According to a convention report Gayle Stever and Linda Burnett, VOYAGER actor Ethan Phillips ('Neelix') is returning to the STAR TREK franchise to play a Ferengi in an upcoming episode. While not officially confirmed, the news comes from ENT cast mate Dominic Keating ('Malcolm Reed'), speaking at a Portland, OR convention recently. Keating commented that Phillips had visited the set and spread the news. Interestingly, Phillips got his start in the TREK franchise back in the third season of TNG, playing the Ferengi scientist 'Dr. Farek' in the episode "Menage a Troi."
While additional informationa about the appearance of the Ferengi in ENTERPRISE is not available, the synopsis for "Dear Doctor" that surfaced several months ago did include news that the aliens in this episode, which airs Wednesday January 23rd, reveal that the Ferengi had visited them. This would mark the fourth appearance of a major alien race from the previous TREK series in the prequel series, along with the Klingons and the Andorians, and of course the Vulcans.
