    Dept: Star Trek BBS Update

Well Saturday has arrived, and boy I hope this works. Steve asked me if I would handle the BBS update for him (Hey, he IS a busy guy). So here I am actually trying to post it to the main page. So here goes:

The BBS continues to hop, so jump on over and take a look, it's only a click away at the STAR TREK BBS. If you haven't signed up yet, you can do that too here. If you read the original post it is simply polished up here, so ENJOY!

It's Saturday now so I thought I might go back and review this weeks happenings on the BBS, if I can catch it all that is. I know it's long, but I hope it is worth it. I'll start with last Saturday, man we cover a lot in a week!

Saturday arrived only to find Cyrus questioning why the Ferengi would ever make an appearance on ENTERPRISE. Hippo ofcourse blamed it on B&B, who would you blame it on, and Ro said lets wait and see. Well we waited and it is official, which prompted a lot more posts, needless to say this is viewed poorly by the majority of BBSers.

Star Trek Universe refused to believe that it's possible for Data to die, and Bean wondered if the Borg were really that stupid. Which brings up a good question, are they?

Sunday brought Sarah of Borg reviewing LOTR for us, and oh what a review it was. Let's just leave it at that folks. it WAS a review, that is the only positive thing I have to say. Moving on....

Cymro wondered how anyone could think that DS9 was crap, and the Hippo man would once again sing its praises as the best ever! Oh yeah, and I apparantly live in a fantasy world with Unicorns and elves. Just read the post.

The day would close out with Hippo wanting our revised Playoff picks, (we'll see how we did on Sunday my man) and Hadji Umzadi calling LOTR racist. We won't really go into that, but the word Troll does come to mind. I try to stay away from those things.

    O. Deus would open up Monday going back to the Ferengi again. Which prompted a great line from Siroth: "Oh my God they killed Canon! The Bastards" Oh so true! Even with the crew never seeing them, why bother?

    O. Deus would then beg the question, many hours later, but still on Monday, of Borg on ENTERPRISE. Ensign-Ro-Your-Boat would stick to his guns and defend B&B to the end, and a big B&B bashing would ensue, but the entire thing would turn out to be an anylization of Ro's Sig, mainly by Hippo, and hence the Hippo, sic Balls signature from Ro. Hippo still found a way to take it as a compliment.

Ro would then ask us all to rank the ENTERPRISE episodes thus far, which was probably really hard for him since they are all so great, and we would somehow end up giving Papa Lazarou a lesson in wife beaters, where's he from anyway? Archangel would have a prompt response on where the name came from, where's he from anyway?

Sarah of Borg would start off Tuesday right with a ::sigh, and we would ::sigh right back. Heck I thought about defending her til she ::sighed. I don't know about you but a ::sigh is always the last straw in my book. No ::sighing here, no sirree.

I would ask for your most anticipated films of 2002, and STAR WARS appears to be the clear choice (Hey I AM the one writing this), and Mr. Hippo would start us on a BOND theme that is still going on. I love BOND though. "From Russis with Love" appeared consistently in the top ten there, but the more interesting question is: How does Anarchos think that Timothy Dalton is the best Bond Ever? Ouch. If that's true then Brosnan, Lazenby, Connery, and Moore really, really suck. Otherwise, Tuesday was your typical BBS day.

Wednesday would roll around, and Mr. Hippo would write a very long essay on the Balances, and counterbalance, anti-terrorism balance times three and the power.....ah damn. It was REALLY LONG, but well thought out my man.

Then the BBSer awards would start, by Ensign-Ro-Your-Boat. I only want to say one thing, Weinstein called me first, but I referred him to the Hippomeister. All this really did was make me realize how little attention I paid to how many people actually post here. WOW.

Thursday would start of with Jean-Luc trying to draw Sarah out of her hole, and her coming out of it, then going right back in. Who Knew? We would also see some debate on prisoner's in Cuba brougt on by HarryDax, and Argyle would be appalled at it. I still can't believe some of the things you all said! (said with tongue planted firmly in cheek!)

Phaser would give us one hell of a review on 'Dear Doctor' (who knew you could write so much about an episode, not me), and I would realize things I hadn't while watching. It is amazing how that happens.

Thursday would conclude with trekwriter wondering what happened to the teaser, and me wondering why he didn't just start making them longer? Hello, trekwriter?

Friday would begin with Steavis wondering if Evolution was more than a theory and Beafies taking him to school. Smoking Astronaut got a pretty good word in there too, no need for me to even respond. More than a theory? wow!

Steve would bring us cruising into the weekend wondering if ENTERPRISE was already dead on arrival. I hope not cause we got 6 and 1/2 more years, and it might start to stink.

The awards show would begin Friday night, and we all showed up wearing our pertiest clothes. I'll save the rest of the weekend for next week. If you think it sounds like a big mess at the STAR TREK BBS, well it is, and we wouldnt't have it any other way! The madness is simply a click away.

Well that concludes my first OFFICIAL update, and I apoligize in advance for any mistakes. Next week I might, and I stress the word MIGHT, try to actually include links to the original posts on the message boards, but that might be hard. If you have some positive feedback feel free to email me or just post it. If you have negative feedback, I am sure I can find Steve's email address for you :)
