Crashdown.com has reported today that UPN's ROSWELL, executive produced by Trek veterans Ronald D. Moore and Jonathan Frakes, has been axed. The report also confirms that ROSWELL's episode order for this season has been cut from 20 to 18 episodes.
"Crashdown.com now has heard from several separate (and reliable) sources that the UPN has cancelled Roswell. We are hearing that the order has been cut from 20 to 18 shows for this season, and that there will not be a season 4. The cast was informed today of this decision, and public release of this information is expected at any time. Production is expected to wrap in mid-March.... It is too early to say what the possibilities are for another network to pick up the show."

This update was later posted on Crashdown.com.
"According to the Roswell publicist, the final fate of the show will not be known until May, but Roswell has not officially been cancelled by UPN, so they asked that we correct the previous news item... The information in the previous news item came from multiple and separate sources connected to the show, who separately told the site the same information. The fact that Fox made the effort to ask for a correction is probably a sign that campaigning for the shows survival will not be a wasted effort."
