According to the Hollywood Reporter (via Sci-Fi Wire), TNG and TREK film actor LeVar Burton will make his feature film directorial debut with TNG cast-mate Whoopi Goldberg, STAR TREK VI star Christopher Plummer, and actor Kevin Pollack in the live-action/computer-animated feature BLIZZARD. The film, set to begin shooting in Toronto and Quebec City February 18th, tells the story of a young girl, played by Zoe Warner, and her relationship with Santa's reindeer, Blizzard.

Burton is the second TNG cast mate to make the move from before the camera to behind: Jonathan Frakes' CLOCKSTOPPERS lands in theaters soon and the actor is set to direct a thriller about a master illusionist (story).
