Zap2It has posted the overnight ratings for Wednesday night. The latest first-run ENT episode, "Shadows of P'Jem", held steady in its overnight rating at 5.8/9, marginally up from a 5.7/8 for last week's episode, "Sleeping Dogs." More importantly, ENT reclaimed 4th place for the 8 o'clock (EST) hour though UPN finished in 5th place overall for the night. After That 80s Show's strong premiere, FOX fell to 5th place for 8 o'clock hour with That 80s Show and Grounded for Life scoring an averaged 4.9/9 rating. Not surprisingly, NBC dominated the night.
New episodes of all three of its Wednesday-night shows gave NBC a ratings win for the night as "Ed," "The West Wing" and "Law & Order" averaged a 10.3 rating/16 share. CBS, aided by a "Diagnosis Murder" movie, was second with a 9.1/14, followed by ABC (7.0/11) and FOX (5.6/9). UPN, 4.2/6, beat out The WB, 3.1/5, for fifth place.
An hour-long "My Wife and Kids" won the 8 p.m. hour for ABC with a 9.0/15, followed by "60 Minutes II" on CBS, 8.2/13. "Ed" managed a 6.6/10, while "Enterprise" on UPN finished fourth with a 5.8/9. FOX's comedy duo of "That '80s Show" and "Grounded for Live" averaged a 4.9/9 for the hour, while "Dawson's Creek" brought up the rear for The WB.
