EnterpriseUK has posted an extensive summary of the next first-run episode of ENTERPRISE, "Fusion," slated to air on Wednesday, February 27th. The piece is based on a draft of the script, so some details may end up different, and the final act is not summarized so as to preserve the episode's conclusion. Here is a snipet:

"The episode opens in Archer's ready room with a close-up of a children's book. The cover shows an image of a deep blue nebula, and the title of the book: 'Going to the Stars!' The shot then reveals T'Pol and Archer - who is holding the book, which we now see is an astronomy primer. Archer then indicates T'Pol to the window where we see the same nebula out of the window. T'pol opens the book where we see the eight year old Archer has written his name 'From the library of Jonny Archer.'

"The com panel then beeps and we hear Reed's voice informing the captain that there's a ship approaching and that they're hailing. The ship turns out to be a Vulcan transport ship, but the class of vessel hasn't been used for many years according to T'Pol. The Enterprise answers the hail, and a Vulcan man named 'Tyrus' appears on screen. He is different from other Vulcans, his hair is much longer, and his clothes are more casual and he is said to be 'uncharacteristically friendly.' Tyrus exclaims 'It's very good to see you.'

"The Vulcan ship turns out to be a civilian ship on a mission of exploration, Tyrus tells Archer that they are not your typical Vulcans. Tyrus asks for assistance with repairs to his ship, Archer agrees. T'Pol is puzzled by the encounter and suspicious, she doesn't like the sound of this.

"The Vulcans are invited aboard the Enterprise, we see Archer and T'Pol sharing a meal with Tyrus and one of his crewmates Szon - a quiet Vulcan in his early thirties. Naturally, a vegetarian meal is prepared for the Vulcans, however they take more of an interest in the spaghetti and meatballs that Captain Archer is eating. It turns out that the Vulcans are not exploring space but a new way of life, T'Pol suddenly realizes calling them "V'tosh ka'tur" which means "Vulcans without logic." Tyrus says that they haven't left logic behind but simply found a balance between reason and emotion.

"Tyrus explains that one of the reasons they left their people behind is because they have a habit of keeping a close eye on other species or anyone who disagrees with them, it's taken them 8 years, but their experiment appears to have worked.

"In the Messhall we discover from a scene with T'Pol and Szon that T'Pol comes from the city of ShirKahr, Szon realises this because T'Pols accent is more pronounced when she speaks their language. Szon also notices that T'Pols emotions are much closer to the surface than the average Vulcan. According to T'Pol, history has shown that Vulcans who embrace their emotions often revert to their primal natures, and some even become mentally unstable.

"The story then shifts back to the exploration of the nebula that the Enterprise encountered. On the bridge, Reed informs Archer that there are pockets of turbulence and gravimetric shear ahead, Archer hesitates unwilling to take his ship in. Tyrus tells Archer 'If this were a Vulcan ship, you'd proably want to send in a series of automated probes and keep your ship out here...(pointed)...where it's safe.' Archer lloks to Tyrus with a smile getting his point and tells Travis to take the ship in.

"The Enterprise moves into the nebula with the Vulcan ship docked on its side. Tyrus explains to Archer that the navigational sensors onboard their Vulcan ship are quite sophisticated, and so Archer sends T'Pol aboard to reconfigure them to take readings of the nebula. Onboard the Vulcan ship, T'Pol is curious to see a small statue of 'Surak,' after they have rejected his teachings. Szon tells her that they don't reject his teachings, but they disagree with how the Elders interpret them.

"T'Pol acknowledges that she meditates every night, Szon tells her not to meditate tonight to see what happens. T'Pol doesn't like the idea, but she is curious..."
