Boston Phoenix just posted a positive review of Kate Mulgrew's new play 'Tea at Five', a one-woman show about the life of Hollywood star Katharine Hepburn. Mulgrew plays Hepburn in the two-act play that presents the actress's life at age 37 and then at age 76.
According to the reviewer "Kate Mulgrew's re-creation of Hepburn's voice and theatrical mannerisms is uncanny.[...] And if Tea at Five offers more anecdote than revelation, it has nonetheless a revelation in its star, who almost upstages the star she's playing. [...]"
You can read the full review here.
UPDATE : Several 'Tea at Five' performances have been cancelled due to Mulgrew suffering from inflammation of the vocal cords - details are available at her official website, Totally Kate !. |
