With the Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Complete First Season DVD Box Set ready to hit the street next Tuesday, March 26th, DVD File has reviewed the complete package and given its stamp of approval.
"As soon as you pick up this box, you know right away that just by the packaging it is something special. Housed in a handsome, heavy-carboard silver box, inside you'll find a 7-disc gatefold sleeve, colored coded (season 1 is a sleek dark burgundy) along with a collectible booklet. (Unfortunately, the liner notes and character roundup is sparse and a bit disappointing; I would have liked a bit more meat.) Also very cool are the menus, which Trekkers should really dig and are easy to navigate."
[...]
"After the disappointing releases of The Original Series on DVD, Paramount has done a very fine job of presenting The Next Generation the way the fans want. Nice transfers, new 5.1 surround mixes, fun supplements and great packaging, I'm afraid you Star Trek fans better get that plastic ready. Though Paramount hasn't set an official list price for these collections, most retailers offering discounts on an estimated $149.95 MSRP, so shop around. Set phasers to 'Buy!'"

How would you rate the latest ENT episode, OASIS, on a scale from 1 (bad) to 10 (excellent) in comparison to the best and the worst episodes of the previous Star Trek television series?
