    Dept: Star Trek BBS Update

Manic Monday is upon us folks, and boy what a manic day it has been for me. Sorry for the nearly two week absence of the update, but I’m here now so lets get rolling. The Star Trek BBS has been a little slow the last few days, but that won’t stop me from picking on everybody.

As always before we get rolling I encourage all of you to delurk and begin posting as soon as possible by signing up here. I guess the BBSers have been Balling it up with March Madness because as I already said the BBS has been very slow. Also, we haven’t seen a new ENTERPRISE in weeks so the Trek faithful are getting a little antsy. ENTERPRISE does return this week with Rogue Planet, and it only has to go up against CBS’ Survivor: Marquesas, who does the programming again for UPN?

Going back to last Monday Xanthis2002 (where do you guys come up with some of these names?) started us off on the gay topics asking What about the gay rumors? He was just wondering what happened to the first Gay character in Trek. Can anybody find humor in this, it is just sad most of the time. I will abstain from any jokes, for fear of being called a homophobe.

Cap’n D (who by the way has no such fear) wanted to forget all this talk about homosexuals and talk about the new Attack of the Clones trailer. I must admit that I thought it was pretty cool. Steve loved the line “begun this clone war has”. Noraa had a little trouble counting out the months ‘til it comes out (we now have less than 2 months). O. Deus does nothing to hide his disdain for Lucas or Star Wars in the threads. I am a huge Star Wars fan and have high hopes for Episode II.

Well now would be the time that I would roll on into to Tuesday and tel you what Wesleys_fan had to say about Jesus being gay, but I am already tired of talking about it. So we won’t talk about that stuff anymore. OK? Good.

Cap’n D would ask another possible Theological Question for those that Believe. It started out as a question about believing in the after life or not (just your typical conversation starter, nothing too deep for TrekWeb) and turned into a debate on the human soul being eternal or not. People this is just not good material. I need something to work with here. I am trying for comedy and you give me gays and Religion all in the same week. You know how many emails I would get if I went after these topics? Well maybe I’ll be tactful enough to do it one day, but not right now methinks.

Ensign-Ro-Your-Boat (you didn’t really think you could get by this week without me mentioning you did you?) kept his focus and got back to Star Trek wondering about Boston Public to the Stars for a Starfleet Academy show. I’m wondering why he is watching Boston Public. Could it be that Trek Hottie Jerri Ryan has moved over there? Anybody else think she is looking better out of that damn tight suit from VOYAGER? She looks pretty good.

Amazingly enough only three more posts dominated the rest of the week. I told you it was a slow one. From lordschroeder talking about Evolution,(did you know we all came from rocks?) to smoking astronaut wanting to know if the Electoral College is unconstitutional,(some of us remained silent and didn’t disagree) and finally Wesleys_fan sticking to the gay topic wanting to know what he can do to make a gay person change. (that’s right we tackle all of the worlds problems right here at the TrekWeb BBS)

That about sums it up folks. I was glad to see Ensign-Ro-Your-Boat back and posting since his return a couple of weeks ago. Also, I think the BBS being so slow over the last few days could be because the Hippo is incognito for the next few weeks while he moves to Northern California. This could make for a bunch of people agreeing with each other (doubtful). As I said earlier ENTERPRISE does go new again with Rogue Planet so I am sure there will be a slew of reviews pouring in Wed night.

My names is Trips and that’s all I got, so keep the posts coming and try to be nice to each other (not too nice or else this Update would be really boring).
