Speaking to Sci-Fi Wire, actor/director Jonathan Frakes revealed that he'll be directing the pilot for UPN's new remake of the classic science fiction series THE TWILIGHT ZONE.
"The Twilight Zone [is] a franchise not unlike Star Trek that people have very fond specific memories of, and I think the opportunity to tell these kinds of stories that are ... parables is very similar to what [Gene] Roddenberry's original Star Trek was like," he said while promoting his new Paramount film CLOCKSTOPPERS, in theaters March 29th.
Pen Densham, the executive producer of THE OUTER LIMITS will write and produce the TZ pilot for Trilogy Entertainment.
"We have too little time. But it's going to be spectacular. Pen Densham wrote it, and I think it's got real style," Frakes said of the gig.
For the original story check out this page. Meanwhile, the future of Frakes's other project, UPN's ROSWELL is still in limbo, with the Sci-Fi Channel among possible new networks for the series expected to be axed at UPN.
"There is no official word, and we're trying to find another home for it on another network," Frakes said of the show's future. |
