According to the latest TV GUIDE, STAR TREK will make a major assault on U.S. newsstands with next week's issue (the week of April 20). That's because TVG will celebrate TREK's 35th Anniversary (a little late) by releasing 35 TREK covers, which will create one large interlocking image when placed side-by-side.
The last time TVG devoted such a large amount of covers to a single subject in a single week was the week of October 21, 2000, when they released 24 different covers devoted to "The 24 Secret Stars of the SIMPSONS" (ie. most of the better-known background characters). The TREK covers will better that total by 11, and feature castmembers from all five TREK series--Original TREK, NEXT GENERATION, DEEP SPACE NINE, VOYAGER and ENTERPRISE. (No word on if the magazine-size TVG Cable Edition will follow suit.)
Although TV Guide Online shows no sign of this event it does currently feature a 5-image photo album of former VOYAGER star Jeri Ryan in this week's YOU SEXY THING section heading the front page. An official PR announcement detailing the contents of the issue should be expected soon.
(Thanks to Nicholas Roche for the scan and the write-up).
How would you rate the latest ENT episode, VOX SOLA, on a scale from 1 (bad) to 10 (excellent) in comparison to the best and the worst episodes of the previous Star Trek television series?
