UPN has officially cancelled the teen-alien sci-fi series ROSWELL after three seasons, according to Sci-Fi Wire. Co-creator and executive producer Jason Katims said the final episode, co-written by former DS9 and TNG writer/producer Ronald D. Moore and himself airing May 14th, was written with "fans very much on our minds when we were writing this final episode. We felt they deserved a great ending."
"I would like to thank 20th Century Fox Television, UPN and especially our fans, whose combined efforts helped get us a third season for Roswell," he added.
Jonathan Frakes was also a producer of the show this season, which moved from the WB to UPN and has faced stiff competition from the WB SUPERMAN prequel series SMALLVILLE.
