Michael Piller reports via his latest insider update at TheDeadZone.net that veteran STAR TREK guest actor George Murdock, 'Admiral Hanson' in "Best of Both Worlds I & II," will join former TNG and VOY scribe Joe Menosky's script for the episode "Enigma." In the episode, Anthony Michael Hall has Johnny falls in love with a woman in 1945 that he only knows through his psychic visions.
Another TREK alumnus joining the DEAD ZONE fray is director James Contner, who recently directed the ENTERPRISE episode "Dear Doctor" as well as episodes this season of SMALLVILLE and DARK ANGEL. Contner will direct the episode "The House," which Piller describes as akin to the film THE SHINING.
Piller also talks about how DEAD ZONE set designer Lance King has recreated the interior of a house used for shooting the series pilot as a set for future use. "Seriously, see if you can tell the difference between the house interiors in the pilot and episode three or four. Movie magic," he challenges audiences.
The exec also reveals more information about DS9 and VOY writer Michael Taylor's script "Unreasonable Doubt," in which Hall's character plays "a 75-year-old man, a Pakistani clerk in a convenience store, and a woman who is assaulted by a gang" all throughout the course of the episode.
