According to Ain't It Cool NewsPatrick Stewart was just on UK TV plugging the DVD release of TNG and he said that he had just been given the script of X-MEN 2 (also know as X2), and said that it was fantastic, and that he flew across the Atlantic with it, saying that the powers-that-be would get the thumbscrews out if anything happened to it.
According to Corona Coming Attractions, two separate X2 screenplays were written, one by David Hayter (X-MEN) and the other Zak Penn (OSMOSIS JONES). Both scripts are expected to be combined into one single screenplay. According to CA, the current major storyline for both X2 scripts still involves a human nemesis that unleashes the Legacy Virus and sentinels upon the mutant population.
