JUNCTION POINT: NOT JUST ANOTHER PBeM RPG! Junction Point is a freefloating space station that is located in that
dark area between Gorn, Tholian, and Klingon space, within a whiff of
the Romulan Empire. K7, as we call it, is adjacent to Sherman's
Planet, where, just 76 years before, the tribble incident took place.
We're set in the year 2380, after the Borg encounters and the Dominion
War, at the very end of the ST-TV timelines. This is a very fastpaced
game composed of a solid base of experienced and expert players, some
of them professionally published in the SF-Fantasy genre. Our location
is junction.the-fgn.org and we're always ready to welcome a few
new players into our warm and friendly community. If our roster appears full at the positions that interest you, don't
let that discourage you from joining. There's enough posting for
duplications in Senior Officer positions and the imagination's the
limit on civilian and other personnel.
We're expecting to be around for a long time, so if you come, plan to stay! We can be reached by clicking Contact Administration or Joining the Game on our site.

Dept: People
Actress Nichelle Nichols joined Scotland Today this morning to promote her new book SATURNA'S QUEST and she spoke about the early genesis of STAR TREK.
"Gene Roddenberry literally started the first ensemble cast in television of people who had equal parts," she said of the original STAR TREK series. "The studios and networks weren't used to that and so they were nervous about it so they started cutting down peoples roles a little bit so that they could have a lead character -- the captain -- and the first mate. But the writers kept writing for me and Gene kept saying 'no, you've got to get her in there' more and more, so he did some wonderful episodes like "Mirror, Mirror" and "Trouble with Tribbles" -- and I love the little tribbles!
Nichols goes on to say that her role was important for African American women: "I got to have the first non-stereotypical role on television," she says. "In other words, I had a role that was neither black nor white or any other -- as any of the roles [were] -- so it was not a 'black' role. So it was just really a ground-breaking event. As a matter of fact I was going to leave the show at the end of the first year to get back to theater, which was my first love, musical theater, and which I was doing so well in-- I always tease that STAR TREK interrupted my career, for the last 35 years! [laughter]"
The actress goes on to talk about her new book, SATURNA's QUEST: "I got this opportunity to publish a science fiction novel called SATURN'S CHILD, which went over very well, and so I wrote this sequel because everyone started writing me going 'where is the sequel?'," she recalls. "So I wanted to write the adventures of Saturna, this beautiful young child. It's about Earth's first mission to Saturn and of course it's on Saturn's largest moon, Titan. When we get there, we discover another race of people from another planet not in our solar system. They've been there for fifty years mining the place magnificently -- the turn out to be peaceful people, and as we come in peace -- startled when we see them -- we find that they've been monitoring us for fifty years and haven't made contact with us because we still settle our differences with war."
Nichols also talks about her role in the Cuba Gooding Jr. Disney film SNOW DOGS and pleasantly recalls the 36 takes it took William Shatner to get their history-making interractial kiss on film. To check out the video interview, go to this page.
