Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Dept: Star Trek: Nemesis
TrekWeb visitor Dwayne Robinson attended this afternoon's Starbase 21 STAR TREK Expo in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was able to be one of first individuals to see the all new one and a half minute teaser trailer for the next feature film in the series, STAR TREK: NEMESIS. Attendees at the event were also treated to a sneak preview of the official web stie for the movie, debuting soon.
Photos were not allowed and security guards attempted to make sure that prohibition was observed, so for now, no photos. But Dwayne sends in this transcription of the trailer:
The trailer, at just over one and a half minutes,
begins with a shot of the Romulan Senate. We hear
Shinzon say, "In darkness, there is strength." The
Enterprise-E is shown, with (I think) Riker saying "I
think that we can truly say that we're sailing into
the unknown."
Worf then says "I recommend extreme
caution," accompanied by a shot of a shuttle launch.
We see Data activating B-9. Then, Shinzon comes on
screen and says, "It is the time we have dreamed of.
the Federation will fall before us." The Scimitar
(Shinzon's flagship) is shown cloaking.

We see a shot of Data and Picard in the Scorpion
Fighter, with Data asking "Do you think this is a wise
course of action, Sir?" and Picard replying "We're
about to find out," as he uses the shuttle's phasers to blast through a bulkhead.
The trailer shoots into overdrive at this point,
giving us quick glimpses of the Remans, Shinzon, the
Scimitar, Picard's jeep chase and rescue, followed by
the final shot of the trailer, showing Data in a
leap from a devastated Enterprise corridor into the
cold of deep space.
Fan reaction was enthusiastic. One convention
attendee said that she "wished that December wasn't so
far away," while another person said that the trailer
looked like it would "blow FIRST CONTACT away." The
Paramount representative also distributed free copies
of the CD-Rom that was distributed at the Vegas Trade
Show two weeks ago, as well as temporary tattoos.
The trailer will
be shown on ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT July 1st, with
theatre showings beginning on July 3rd.
Another TrekWeb visitor, Tad, also attended today's event and reported on the trailer. He adds some detail about one particularly impressive scene:
[One] really cool shot in the trailer involved Picard's jeep jumping off a cliff, soaring through the air and landing in the back of a shuttle craft! The movie is going to kick ass!
Tad also informs us about the film's official web site, saying it goes live concurrently with the premiere of the trailer on ET, July 1st. He also had this summary of the presentation concerning the site:
It will involve online games,
an online card trading game, full 360-degree IPIX tours of all the sets, info on the crew and Romulus and Remus.
UPDATE 6/23: Tad chimed in again to mention that at least one of the taglines used in the trailer is: "This December, a generation's final journey begins..."
Thus, despite numerous interviews with major TNG cast members and Rick Berman himself declaring that more TNG movies are likely if NEMESIS performs well, clearly the Paramount marketing team is planning to utilize this angle in promoting the film.
If you have a report of the trailer that you'd like to send in, please contact us.
