Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

StarTrek.com previews two of the upcoming STAR TREK magazines hitting newsstands this month, Star Trek: The Magazine and the Star Trek: Communicator.
The former's August issue -- with VOYAGER's Ethan Phillips as 'Neelix' gracing the cover -- will feature in-depth ST:TNG third season coverage to coincide with the release of that season box set on DVD this month (see TrekWeb's Full Review) as well as an interview with Phillips. The actor talks about early reservations for the way his character ended his seven year journey:
"But the more I thought about it, the more I decided they were right; why should he go back to Earth? He's not from Earth; he doesn't have anything going on down there," he ST: The Mag.
The issue also features interviews with Ira Steven Behr and Jonathan Frakes about TNG's third season and four technical briefings including Admiral Janeway's shuttle and the Son'a mission scout ship.
Changing gears, the new issue of the Communicator hits stands July 16th and in addition to the Rick Berman update (See TrekWeb's Exclusive Preview), co-executive producer and head writer Brannon Braga says he's pleased with the way season one turned out and especially the positive fan reaction and criticism. He also adds this tidbit for "Shockwave, Part II" (see TrekWeb's first look from last week):
"We're going to hint that someone out there doesn't want to see the humans succeed in space, because it's going to eventually result in the formation of an interplanetary alliance. Take that as you will."
The Communicator also features a roundtable on "Who's Continuity Is It, Anyway?," with among others, ENTERPRISE staff writers Mike Sussman and Phyllis Strong, as well as interviews with STAR TREK: NEMESIS co-stars Tom Hardy and Ron Perlman.
Perlman gives some details about his character in the movie: "The guy I work for was a young boy when we met and it's like we are exiled in the Siberia of this dark planet. I took some sort of control over his development and evolution, and eventually he comes to power in the Romulan Empire and it's his goal to forge an alliance of sorts with the Federation."
The actor, who performs under intense Reman makeup in the film opening December 13th, has high praise for screenwriter John Logan's script.
"It's not predictable and it's not obvious and it's very well-written, which to me is the key."
Finally, the issue includes a cover story with Scott Bakula and more comments from the entire TNG cast from the set of NEMESIS.
