Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

TrekWeb just received the following Press Release :
William Shatner visits Challenge Park Xtreme For pre-event planning
Joliet, Illinois, July 6th, 2002 - William Shatner visited Challenge Park Xtreme on June 24th, 2002 to walk the property and discuss the William Shatner Charity Big Game, put on by SPPLAT, which will take place at Challenge Park Xtreme on August 31st, 2002.
SPPLAT, the Society of Paintball Players and Teams, inked a deal with William Shatner, famous for his role of Captain Kirk in the original Star Trek television series and subsequent films, to take an active role in the big event. Mr. Shatner will personally command one of the big game's three teams. Participants will be able to play along side and against Shatner and his team. Radio DJ Mancow Muller and Tom Kaye of Airgun Designs will lead the other two teams in the big paintball game. Several other celebrities will be present and participate in the game.
Shatner walked the property, took notes and discussed the game with several paintball experts including Forest Brown of Challenge Park Xtreme, JJ Brookshire of SPPLAT, Pacman and Mother of MackzXtreme Sportz, and Tom Kaye of Airgun Designs. Together with David Bellah, Justin Brown and Ray Dagnino of Challenge Park Xtreme, they came up with the concept and storylines for the future big game.
Shatner announced plans to film the event for an hour long broadcast television show and video/DVD release. Participants in the game will sign model releases and be encouraged to participate in the filming of the event. Anyone who is playing and brings a camera will be supplied with tape for the camera and then turn in the footage to the production company for possible use in the program, with full credits.
Along with the charity big game nearby there will be a Star Trek Convention complete with Star Trek personalities, contests, seminars, autograph sessions and much, much more. The event will benefit Ahead with Horses, a charity organization that Shatner has been involved with before, and gives physically challenged children the thrill of riding a horse and helps their self-esteem.
Challenge Park Xtreme is the world's first extreme sports theme park and has several other events planned for the weekend. Some of the activities include a freestyle BMX contest, a BMX race, a mountain biking 'n shoot contest, appearances on the skatepark by Freestyle BMX pros like Colin Mackay, Brian Vowell and Koji Kraft, live concerts and appearances by other celebrities.
For futher information, contact Challenge Park Xtreme at www.challengepark.com or SPPLAT at www.spplat.com, and be sure to stay tuned for future updates.
