Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

In the continuing articles from Sunday night's UPN press gathering, The Beacon Journal of Ohio has more comments from producers Rick Berman and Brannon Braga today.
Berman gives even more details about the 1950s episode "Carbon Creek," which is already drawing online criticism for rewriting 1996's STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT.
"It's going to turn out that the Vulcans were keeping an eye on Sputnik when it got launched," Berman told the paper. "[The Vulcans] have a little accident and have to land in western Pennsylvania.... It's going to turn out that Zefram Cochrane was not the first human to make contact with Vulcans."
The article adds that Jolene Blalock will play T'Pol's grandmother, a Vulcan crewmember of the crashed ship.
Braga also told the paper that he's well aware of the obsessive Internet culture that devours entire script synopses even before the episode has been shot.
"We get criticisms of our scripts the day they go out (to show staff)," Braga says. "On the one hand, you're really disappointed that the entire plot line of part two of the cliffhanger can be seen (online) right now."
But he continues, saying the practice isn't necessarily vicious.
"But on the other hand, better an obsessive interest than no interest. It's great that people even care enough to retype the entire script for the Internet."
Braga also says fan reaction is helpful.
"Generally speaking, the fans are incredibly articulate and passionate, and it's worth paying attention to. It's the equivalent of getting fan mail in some ways -- except it's much more candid because they don't know you're reading. There's a lot of expletives and insults. But if you can get through that, there is a lot of very valuable feedback."
The junior exec, as the paper dubs him, also talks about reaction to the introduction of Archer's pet dog, Porthos, the overall reaction to the more "laid back" style of ENTERPRISE, and his own oftentimes disastrous online encounters. Check out the full article here.
