Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Come join a Star Trek PBeM adventure of a lifetime. Be a part of the crew and family that is the USS Wraith as we seek out new life and new civilizations. (0 comments | Add)

The official STAR TREK web site reports that next Monday entertainment industry trade Variety will join the celebration of Paramount Pictures' 90th anniversary with a special issue including a feature on the value of the STAR TREK franchise.
According to the site, the article charts the franchise's long history and attributes it to distinctive qualities. Comments abound from William Shatner, who recalls, "At the time, I thought three years was a pretty good run."
Leonard Nimoy tells why the audience was drawn to his character in THE ORIGINAL SERIES, saying, "By being half-human and half-Vulcan, audiences were interested in his constant effort to maintain balance since there was always the danger his human side would overtake the logic and make him less rational," while STAR TREK II and VI director Nicholas Meyer comments on the inspiration for the direction of the second TREK picture: "I was able to learn a lot from watching the first movie," he says. "I realized that ["The Wrath of Khan] should be like [Horatio] Hornblower, it should be all about the navy," Meyer tells the trade.
Rick Berman says ENTERPRISE has brought a breath of fresh air into the franchise, saying, "We had to do something different because we'd had 21 [seasons] of 24th-century people flying around and because we and the fans were just inundated with too much of the same."
The official site also reports that the feature ranks the syndication success of the previous three series, with TNG grabbing $1 million per episode, followed by DEEP SPACE NINE and VOYAGER tied at $700,000 an installment. The article reiterates that DS9 will begin airing on cable channel TNN in Fall 2004 and VOYAGER in Fall 2006. Interestingly, DS9 is also cited as one of the top five earners for Paramount's syndication lineup.
