Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

In his recent online chat with the official STAR TREK web site ENTERPRISE helmsman Anthony Montgomery says he doesn't care how his character Travis Mayweather evolves as the series progresses, but he wouldn't mind unleashing some of his own martial arts prowess into the character.
"Hopefully, the writers will incorporate Travis being enthusiastic about martial arts into the script," the actor told fans. "That would probably be the only way for Travis to get to kick some alien Heinekens."
In the casual interview that covered everything from his first reactions to being cast in the newest STAR TREK to his first convention experience, Montgomery says landing the role hasn't caused him any "adjustment" problems.
"It's easy to ground yourself when you already know who you are. For me, the hardest part for people to adjust to in a universe like this is when you don't know who you are or where you're going."
Will Mayweather become the next ENTERPRISE crewmember to don his underwear or bare chest on screen? Only if it serves the script, Montgomery assures us.
"I specifically did not want Travis to run around with no shirt on or in his skivvies just for the sake of doing it. When it lends itself to the script, I'm sure you will more of Travis. But there are no "Full Montys" coming. As an actor, I will guarantee that."
The actor's grandfather was legendary jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery and although he died before Anthony was born, the newest Enterprise helmsman says his grandfather's career has been a source of inspiration in the pursuit of his own dreams.
"Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away before I was born. So the influence on my life came from my grandmother, his wife, who is still alive. I did not know who my grandfather was, what exactly he represented, growing up. It wasn't until years later that I understood the impact my grandfather had on the world. I started acting when I got to college, so whatever entertaining bug he put inside my family is the only influence, I think. And then when I realized who he was and what he accomplished at a time when blacks were second class citizens, if you will, I realized that now, in 2002 and beyond, I can do whatever I set my mind to."
For now, he's enjoying the ride and has no special expectations for Mayweather -- as long as the character grows in some manner.
"How do I want to see Travis grow? I don't really care. I just want to continue to see him grow. I leave myself open for whatever those growth possibilities are."
