Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

In the latest issue of STAR TREK MONTHLY (via Sci-Fi Pulse), ENTERPRISE story editor and long-time STAR TREK science consultant Andre Bormanis discusses how the goal of keeping technobabble out of ENTERPRISE dialogue is accomplished.
"We certainly want to tell stories that use interesting idea’s from science as springboards, but we don’t want to ‘tech’ up dialogue. In the episode ‘Breaking the Ice’ we had Reed and Mayweather down on the surface of another comet, and we tried to represent that as accurately as possible. But we didn’t spend time talking about composition of the ice or what they’d have to do to get core samples… they just went down and did it."
Bormanis goes on to talk about his script "Silent Enemy," one of the most well-received of the series' first season.
"This was the first chance we really got to see Reed on a more personal level-it’s his birthday, and the Captain wants to prepare a special meal for him, but we have a heck of a time trying to find out what his favourite food is! We talk to his parents, his sister, his best friend, and we discover that Malcolm is kind of a mystery, that people don’t know him. We play these two sides off, of the enigma of alien attackers and the enigma of Malcolm Reed, and it works on both character level and an action level as well."
