Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Dept: People
The larger-than-life STAR TREK icon William Shatner just continues to reinvent himself at age 71. The actor who's become famous in recent years for poking fun at his outrageous image has only made him more desirable by the public and able to take on almost any opportunity.
The latest is a new weekly series for cable music channel VH1. "One Hit Wonders" is based on a special Shatner hosted last year counting down the top one hundred one hit wonder music groups and premiered last night on VH1. Future installments will range from "heavy metal" to "TV themes" and even a category Shatner himself is familar with, "celebrity singers."
Shatner told The Associated Press (via startrek.com), "In the world that we inhabit, having one hit is a lot better than having no hits." The series continues Monday nights at 10 PM.
On the other end of week and elsewhere on the dial, Shatner's Full Moon Fright Night launches this Saturday night on the Sci-Fi Channel. The actor will host 13 "not-quite-Oscar-caliber late-night horror movies" from the archives of B-horror-movie producer Charles Band and his Full Moon Pictures. Shatner will engage in "wacky" Q&A sessions with guests all leading up to the most fantastic moment of the evening, when the former Captain Kirk acts out the most gruesome moment of each flick with only the campiness William Shatner can achieve.
Titles include KILLJOY, RAGDOLL, SHRUNKEN HEADS, HORRORVISION, OBLIVION and STUART GORDON'S CASTLE FREAK. Full Moon Fright Night airs at 11 PM. Join Shatner today at 6 PM ET for a live chat at Sci-Fi.
Appearing last night on CNN's CONNIE CHUNG TONIGHT, Shatner talked about his love of car racing, likening it to his other love: horseback riding. The actor has raced now in two races and at 71 shows no signs of stopping. Shatner will also return as television pitchman for Internet broker Priceline.com this September, with a new advertising campaign. The actor previously burst onto the ad scene several years ago with spots poking fun at his own singing and exaggerrated image. Finally, the actor will engage in a paint-ball tournament for charity next month, more information can be found at his official web site WilliamShatner.com.
As we're sure there's enough Shatner news to justify an entire sub-section dedicated to all that is Shatner here on TrekWeb, feel free to drop us a line if we've missed something.
