Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

StarTrek.com reports on Wednesday night's Paramount Pictures screening of the new DIRECTOR'S EDITION of STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN, featuring honored guests Nicholas Meyer and Ricardo Montalban. Held at the theater on the studio lot, the screening brought out other TREK alumns including George Takei, J.G. Hertzler ('Martok', producer ST IV DVD extras), Majel Roddenberry, Gene Roddenberry, Jr. and David C. Fein, producer of last year's THE MOTION PICTURE: DIRECTOR'S EDITION.
Director Meyer told the audience he didn't feel that the movie needed "fixing," but nevertheless some new scenes found their way into this new cut.
"I will say a word about directors' cuts and directors' editions. I don't really think they're necessarily better than the original. I think 'longer' doesn't necessarily make things 'better.' You will be relieved, I hope, to learn that this is not a substantively longer movie than the one that you enjoyed [20 years ago]," he said.
Montalban had high praise for the director, who was relatively untested when he helmed the feature.
"You know, the function of the director is to be a loving eye for the actor, to help him give the best performance he's capable of giving. Well, I never had a more loving eye from a director as I did from Nicholas Meyer. He was extraordinary."
Prior to the screening guests enjoyed refreshments and a look at KHAN props, including Spock's sarcophogus. For more of the report including photos visit this page.
STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN -- THE DIRECTOR'S EDITION hits U.S. streets Tuesday, August 6th. Check out TrekWeb's full review and pre-order from Amazon.com now to help support TrekWeb.
